Because the stove restoration process can take six months or more, we can provide you with a loaner stove while we restore your range. When your range is ready you can arrange to have it picked up from our workshop and have the loaner returned to us. All full restoration jobs come with a full one year warranty, which will be detailed in the work contract. The enamel and chrome are warrantied by the manufacturer, but we are there to help should an issue arise. Let your newly restored stove be the topic of discussion at your next party. Antique stoves are not only for antique people. The average age of our clientele is getting younger and younger every day. We love our senior customers because they really know what they've got. They even teach the Stove Lady a thing or two!!

Did you know that your restored range goes through Quality Assurance Testing? We ensure the oven temperature is calibrated correctly, no gas is leaking, that no wires are frayed, that all parts are functioning properly and the stove is in compliance with safety code regulations. Your restored stove is delivered to you by your mover, or if you prefer, you can pick it up from our workshop located in Westchester County, New York.
FINALLY, HERE IS HOW THE RESTORATION PROCESS WORKS!!
First, detailed pictures of the entire unit are taken. Now videos are also taken. The stove is then dismantled into the smallest pieces until the shell is fully exposed. Each part is catalogued, cleaned, polished, and/or fully restored in chrome or enamel. New insulation replaces the old, when necessary and old wiring is replaced.
Depending on the condition of each individual range, parts are sent out to have the porcelain enamel reapplied to the stove panels, trays, doors, grates and burners, as necessary. Chrome parts are sent out for re-chroming, as needed. Chrome keeps its shine when other metals are more likely to tarnish. Griddles, racks, drip pans, and knobs — are all polished and re-worked to look spanking new or replaced if necessary. Stove valves and oven thermostats are re-built or replaced, based on need. As a restorer we determine to what extent parts are replaced, but our goal in terms of restoration is to have a fully functional range that looks perfectly brand new. Minor blemishes may remain, but only lend to the authenticity of the stove's age. You can even change the color of your old yellow stove to white, cobalt blue, grey, red, etc. You can pick almost any color you want!!
Once each piece has been fully restored your stove is reassembled and reviewed to see if it meets our standards.
Finally, your newly restored stove goes through Quality Assurance Testing. We ensure the oven thermostat is calibrated correctly and that all parts are functioning properly. Depending on your location you made need a safety system installed to be sure the range is in full compliance with safety code regulations. We would be happy to install these systems for you, and this process is in addition to the restoration portion of your stove.
Once the restoration is completed, detailed “after” photos are taken to record the professional and amazing transformation of your range. Many before and after pictures can be found on our Before and After Photo Gallery.
